Show Your Love For Local With City Harvest and Bishop’s Landing
The leaves are starting to turn and the air is getting crisp. That means it’s finally time for I Love Local HFX’s annual City Harvest! City Harvest, taking place on Saturday, October 24th, is a day where you are encouraged to get out and enjoy everything your city has to offer. Whether it’s checking out a new store, trying a delicious meal, or just exploring what Halifax has to offer, City Harvest is a great day for the entire family. Bishop’s Landing is excited to sponsor of City Harvest again this year, which means there will be all sorts of exciting things taking place right here on Lower Water Street. In this post, we’re going to let you know about a few of the can’t-miss events happening around Halifax during City Harvest, as well as right here at Bishop’s Landing!
Start With Some Back Door Takeout, Then Go Back For Seconds
City Harvest is the perfect chance for you to find your new favourite food, thanks to all of the options that will be available. From $5 Korean Gnocchi at 2 Doors Down, to the Turkey “Harvest” Burger at Ace Burger, there will be something for everybody to try all over the city. You’ll find BBQ beef brisket sliders at Temple Bar, Bang Bang Pulled Pork at Primal Kitchen, Morris East Wood Burning Pizza at Garrison Brewing, and more.
And of course, we’ll be getting in on the action here at Bishop’s Landing! Hamachi Steakhouse is offering a housemade Sumo Gone Blue burger served with home cut fries available for backdoor takeout for just $10. Afterwards, you can enjoy $2 hand paddled ice cream at Sugah! Or, if ice cream isn’t your thing, how about a wine & chocolate tasting session, courtesy of Luckett Vineyards? One thing is for sure, regardless of the food you choose, by the end of the day, you’re going to be happy (and full!).
Shop (Local) ’Til you Drop!
City Harvest is also a great opportunity to find your new favourite boutique. If you’re looking to update your wardrobe, why not head over to the Biscuit General Store, where posting a picture of yourself with your purchase will get you 20% off! And right here at Bishop’s Landing, you can treat yourself to tax free shopping at Alexa Pope as well as 20% off all clothing and glassware at Rum Runners.
Bishop’s Cellar will be pairing local wines and beer with local cheeses, and doing fun giveaways all day long. Stop in for a free sample and a chance to win some great prizes!
City Harvest: A Chance To Experience a New Side of Your City
These are only a few of the exciting events that are taking place in and around Halifax and Bishop’s Landing during City Harvest. With so much going on, there’s no doubt that you’ll want to experience as much as possible, and we definitely want to encourage you to get out there and take it all in—you’ll be happy that you did! And if you’re hungry for more, Bishop’s Landing will be hosting the final Brunch at Bishop’s of the season on Sunday, October 25th.
