August 1st – Natal Day (Most shops and services at Bishop’s Landing will be closed for the day.)

Continuing to Sun Aug 28 – Waterfront Swing Dancing at Tall Ships Quay
Sundays from 2-4 pm during the summer, you might find a group of swing dancers at Tall Ships Quay, weather permitting (located between Bishop’s Landing and NS Power – gazebo area). New participants and spectators welcome.

Continuing to Thu Sep 8 – Milonga at Tall Ships Quay

Argentine social tango on the Halifax Waterfront hosted by Tangonova.
Open to all who practice Argentine Tango – $5 suggested floor fee.Dancing will take place a number of Thursday evenings this summer starting June 30 from 6:30-9:30 pm.

Fri Jul 22 to Fri Aug 26 – alFresco filmFesto at Tall Ships Quay

The popular alFresco filmFesto outdoor summer series is back! Now in its 11th year, this family favourite takes place on the Halifax waterfront at dusk on Friday evenings. (Saturday evenings are rain dates).
The 2011 dates are Jul. 22, 29 and Aug. 5, 12 19 and 26. This season it’s the “Summer of Murray” – a great selection of Bill Murray hits, including our host night on Aug. 12.

Thu Aug 4 to Sun Aug 14 Halifax International Busker Fest on the Halifax Waterfront
Celebrating 25 years of Buskers!

Tue Aug 30 to Sun Sep 4 2011 SWATCH Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Junior World Championships at the Salter Block Parking Lot.
The five day tournament runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 4 and will see over 400 delegates and athletes from more than 30 countries in Halifax for both the men’s and women’s championships.
