There is no shortage of patios along the Halifax waterfront, and Bishop’s Landing is home to many of them! The Bicycle Thief, Little Oak, The Daily Grind, Ristorante a Mano, Sea Smoke, and Sugah! each has outdoor seating areas where you can enjoy the views, good company, and their food and drinks.
2. Stroll Along the Halifax Boardwalk
Whether you’re starting at the Seaport Market, Bishop’s Landing, or Historic Properties, it’s a favourite tradition for every Haligonian to take a stroll along the Halifax boardwalk. Tourists love it too because there is so much to see and enjoy along the way.
3. Treat Yourself with an Ice Cream
Sugah! Confectionary and Ice Cream Emporium has recently remodelled, but their sweets are as good as ever. Order yourself an ice cream in a waffle cone with some extra mix-ins and treat yourself!
4. Read a Book Outside (or in A/C!)
Take some time for yourself and find a bench to enjoy a good book in the sun. If you prefer the shade and some refreshing air conditioning, try hanging out at The Daily Grind with a local, freshly ground coffee.
5. Shop for a Summer Outfit and Bling
All that time inside wearing tie-dyed sweatpants was fun, but now you need some summer sunnies, a cute outfit, and some bling to show off. Alexa Pope is the perfect spot for trendy brands and looks. For some extra fabulous jewellery, pop into Frida to check out their collections of stunning custom rings and more.
6. Try a New Local Craft Beer or Wine
Bishop’s Cellar has re-opened their doors for you to shop in-store. Get a recommendation on something new to try. Pro tip: if you love it, you can order more online and have it delivered to your door!
7. Have a Romantic Dinner
Imagine this: waves crashing under the boardwalk, lights glowing overhead, and enjoying some of the best food and drinks the city as to offer. At Sea Smoke, you could even be seated at a firepit table on the sprawling patio. The Bicycle Thief, Little Oak, and Ristorante a Mano are all great choices for a summer romantic dinner.
8. Meet Friends for Happy Hour
The Daily Grind at Bishop’s Landing has a happy hour from 4-6pm that includes $5 wines and $8 doubles! Also, Sea Smoke has a special cocktail on for just $6 from 3:30-5:30pm. Call your friends and plan to meet up!
9. Get a Summer Haircut
The Hair Factory is open and taking appointments! If you still have the same hairstyle you’ve had before COVID-19 began, it’s likely time for a summer haircut! Call them to make an appointment 902-492-5343.
10. Boost Your Beauty Routine
All this activity in the summer sun can have an impact on your skin health and hydration. Head to Moon Moon Cosmetics to get all the skincare supplies you need to boost your beauty routine.
The retailers and restaurants at Bishop’s Landing can’t wait to welcome you all summer. Keep in mind that some things may be a little different to comply with new health and safety regulations and to keep you and their teams safe. As always, stay home if you are not feeling well or have recently travelled.
