This weekend, Maples Gallery – home to everything Canadian-made, from artwork, jewelry, gourmet kitchen items and beyond – is celebrating Canada Day in a big way: with a sale on all Michique Handbags! This beautiful line, designed and crafted in Cape Breton, features handbags in red, blue, black, turquoise, orange and yellow, just in time for summer fun.

What better way to ring in our national with some festive red and white? Bishop’s Cellar has just the answer – wine! – and is conveniently open on Canada Day 10:00 am – 10:00pm. Ask their staff for the perfect recommendation to accompany a Canada Day BBQ, for crowd-pleasers for any parties you may be attending or hosting, or for a favourite Canadian pick to further celebrate your patriotism. You’ll also be able to take in the Canada Day fireworks along the boardwalk while satisfying your sweet tooth at Sugah!, open from 10:00am until midnight (fireworks dependent, otherwise they’ll be open 10am – 10pm!). Choose from their hand-paddled ice cream, wide range of confections made right onsite, or a new take on an old Canadian favourite with their BEEP slushie!
